Footing Design Adelaide

Foundations designed around your structure and site conditions.

Practical advice for your project.

Solidbase Engineering develops footing and slab designs for defined building and structural projects. The design considers the geotechnical information, load arrangement, site geometry, drainage and interaction with existing construction.

You work directly with Daniel Cybulski, a Chartered Professional Engineer with more than 15 years of civil and structural engineering experience. Solidbase is based in South Plympton and services Adelaide and projects across South Australia by arrangement.

How we can help

  • Footing and slab design for additions and new work
  • Shed pad and pier footing design
  • Existing foundation assessment and strengthening advice

What the process includes

  1. Review the architectural or supplier drawings and project scope
  2. Identify soil classification and geotechnical information needs
  3. Calculate the relevant structural loads and foundation requirements
  4. Document the agreed dimensions, reinforcement and construction requirements

A written fee proposal confirms the inspection, calculations, report or drawings included in your project. The scope also identifies assumptions, exclusions and any additional investigations required.

Frequently asked questions

Can existing footings be reused?

Reuse depends on their dimensions, material, condition, founding level and the proposed loads. Investigation may be needed before an engineering assessment is possible.

Can a shed use pad footings instead of piers?

That depends on uplift, bearing conditions, footing weight, geometry and the supplier’s reactions. The foundation arrangement must be assessed for the particular site.

What information helps with a quote?

Send the site suburb, drawings, soil report if available, supplier information and whether the work is new construction or an alteration.
